Whenever we
talk about summer vocation we must plan one thing with friends that is swimming
in cold water at hot condition today I am going to tell the place which have
lot of memories for me and in fact many of you must have visited this place in
your childhood or possibly in recent. As my concern is only to memorize your
memory might be you was there with your school fallows on 5th class
tour or may be with 10th’s class fallows. Have you ever seen the
spring inside the park or garden? Which turns in to water hose or pool the
garden is walled lock and there are old trees and plants in rows brought from
different part of the world.
I am talking
about the place where children and young boys enjoy swimming in fresh water
which is able to drink (not in pool in spring). There are small canals or you can say water pass lines for plants
which goes to the different parts of the garden kids can enjoy swim in those
lines. There is canteen outside the garden and cafeteria inside the garden
where pakora, samosa, burger and chart will be served on reasonable price. The
garden is older and reflect the architecture of Mughal emperor, a great king Shah
Jahan have built this garden as you can see fascinated wall around the garden .
I think you
almost clear that I am talking about “Wah Garden” present in wah cant. Many
times I have visited with my school, family and bazm-e-paigham (organization of children). From my childhood I am
good swimmer and I love to swim anywhere surely you also love it and many time
you got visit to this precious garden. This garden is best place ever for one
day family and school tour and many schools of Islamabad and Rawalpindi do
visit it.
If we
talking about the history of this garden, Raja Maan singh posted a Wah from the
year 1581 to 1586 to stop the enemy during this period he made a pound
surrounded by wall with twelve large gates. In 1607 great king Jahangir took
stay for three days in walled pond where he enjoys fishing through net. In 1639
King Shah Jahan ordered to reconstruct this garden he hired one of the best architecture
on that time named Ahmad Maamar Lahoree. The king supervises whole construction under
his eyes garden took 2 years to complete which was Mughal construction style. The
garden was badly damaged on the time of Durrani Empire in 1747 to 1826. After
that British government took care of this and handed it to Nawab Hayat Khan in
1865.
Access of
this precious garden is very easy it is very near to Islamabad and Rawalpindi the
people from out of city can take flights to Islamabad or come through train and bus, from airport, Peerwadhai bus stand and Station you can go there
through public transport and by own car. Now a day boys use to go there in
bikes, they plan one day tour on which they enjoy bike riding and swimming in
hot weather condition. I am sure you should plan in couple of days to visit
precious Wah Garden.
